I think they are 90% there, it's a beautiful DAW with many features applicable to what I do. So I am hoping in 6 months or a year MOTU gets it right. Frequent missed and dropped MIDI notes (am using MOTU MIDI Express XT MIDI interface) and even notes being triggered by a hardware synth whose port/channel are not even assigned! Also I get this start-up message saying DP cannot find my audio card (a MOTU 2408 with the latest drivers). The problems I am having are show-stoppers. In fact, I really can see learning and using this software in production (I compose contemporary classical music in the electronic medium and have scored a lot of animation). DP8 is not difficult to learn, the user interface is very attractive to me and there's a lot of useful information that can fit on my screen. DP8 for Windows is the first DAW to really perk my interest away from Sonar. I am a full-time composer and music producer and have been using Sonar/Cakewalk for 22 years.
